Mike W. Flora, Principal

Mike has nearly 20 years of experience working for both public and private companies in the areas of accounting and finance. Mike has experience working domestically and internationally in a wide range of industries that include government contracting, telecommunications, direct marketing, personal credit management and education. Mike’s skills include planning and forecasting, advanced MS Excel modeling, internal accounting department management, project management and process improvement. Mike earned a BBA in Finance from James Madison University’s College of Business, Harrisonburg, VA in 1991 and an MBA from Virginia Tech’s Pamplin College of Business, Falls Church, VA in 1996.

Kristin L. Flora, Principal

Kristin has nearly 20 years of experience working in both public and corporate accounting environments. She began her career as an auditor with Ernst & Young where she gained invaluable experience in the areas of insurance, banking and healthcare. She complemented this experience by working with both for profit and not for profit organizations until founding Accounting Works in 2003 (now Flora Financial Works). Kristin earned a BS in Accounting from George Mason University’s School of Management, Fairfax, VA in 1991. Kristin is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Virginia Society of CPAs (VSCPA).
